Creative courses in Dortmund
There are more than a thousand students undergoing courses with an emphasis on culture and creative economy at various education institutions in Dortmund. In the 2007 summer semester there were over 3000 students at the Dortmund University enrolled in Journalism, the German Language, English/ American studies, History, Art, Textiles and Music courses. Approx. 1000 students are undertaking Design Communication Media (BA), Scenography and Communication (MA), Communication Design majoring in Photo Design (Diploma) and Film/ Television majoring in Camera work (Diploma). Other relevant courses at the University of Dortmund are in the fields of computer science and architecture. There are also other private institutions and academies in Dortmund that have internationally recognised Bachelor and Masters degrees that co-operate with internationally renowned partner institutions.
